A shortened or tightened psoas muscle can result in lower back pain, anxiety, knee strain or exhaustion. This workshop explores how physical and emotional blockages held in the psoas affect the mobility and flexibility of the skeletal structure and spine. Moving through the practice you will work on areas of resistance and injury in a deep and nurturing way to open, unfold and undo tension without force.

This PSOAS Workshop is amazing. It’s so good that I signed up immediately for the next round! I am one of Monika’s yoga students, but don’t hesitate if you’re new. Monika walks you through where the PSOAS muscle is and what it can cause negativity in your body. Personally, I have a LOT of debilitating lower back pain because of a vertebra that’s out of place. Since the workshop and deep, but gentle, stretching of my PSOAS muscle through yoga, I haven’t had nearly as many problems! Knowing how to keep it stretched out is a huge benefit. Monika sends out packets with tips, the yoga poses, and stretches for home use. She’s knowledgeable, personable, and I’d recommend this workshop to anyone with back pain or anxiety. Again, it’s so good I’m going again!

Learn how practical postures, movements, and meditations can assist in promoting healthy thyroid function and provide you with simple ‘take home’ techniques to incorporate into your daily lifestyle. The workshop will be generally structured around three key areas:
1. Posture & Movement – learning how specific yoga positions and sequences can stimulate and nurture the thyroid and parathyroid glands,
2. Breathing Techniques & Meditations – focused on how you can use the breath and vibration work to calm your nervous system and reduce the impact of symptoms such as inflammation, stress, and anxiety,
Facilitated by qualified yoga teacher and Hashimotos patient Monika Thompson, she will share her first-hand knowledge of how specific postures, movements, breathing techniques, diet, and meditation have assisted in the management of her own thyroid condition, with the aim of helping others who may be struggling to juggle the variety of symptoms and side-effects commonly associated with thyroid disorders.

This workshop is suitable for anyone suffering from a condition of the thyroid, including but not limited to hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, thyroiditis and other similar autoimmune conditions. No yoga experience is necessary.
